Golden Moment

Would you believe this is a winter painting? With its golden tones, you would think it's a regular summer night. The luminescent lights impart a glow that makes the painting appear to be inspired by mildly temperate season. However, you can see in the background, the winter cold wrapping the rest of the city. It must be getting late cos everyone seems to be already at home. Nobody is wondering along the streets and almost all the lights inside the beautiful homes are lit. The gondola on the river is a nice touch. It may not be a focal point, but it made the painting more convincing. This can also be said to the addition of bridge over the river.
